Dutschke Wines is a family owned boutique winery located in the Southern Barossa town of Lyndoch. The 2014 vintage marked 25 years since it all began. Winemaker and owner Wayne Dutschke teamed up with uncle and grape grower Ken Semmler back in the vintage of 1990 to form WillowBend Wines (now Dutschke Wines), which had humble beginnings with only two wines from Kens St. Jakobi vineyard, a red blend and chardonnay. Dutschke Wines built their own winery on Gods Hill Road in Lyndoch in 2001 and the portfolio has increased to a small range of single vineyard red varietals and a number of fortified wines. During this journey Dutschke Wines winemaking philosophies of small batch, whole berry ferments using family grown fruit, open fermenters, basket presses and a quality oak regime have all remained the same. Wayne Dutschke was crowned Barossa Winemaker of the Year in 2010, inducted into the Barons of Barossa in 2013. Dutschke Wines cellar door is open to the public from 22 May to 8 June 2020 and at other times by prior appointment. ...
